Job Summary
Bean Counter Bakery Cafe is currently seeking a full-time or part-time Barista with prior experience. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, providing the best experiences for customers, be a team player, have flexible working hours and enjoy meeting new people. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with their orders, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. You will be working in our newly renovated location just minutes to downtown Worcester at 113 Highland Street and, as needed, at our flagship bakery at 270 Grove Street. Bean Counter Bakery Café at Highland Street is Worcester’s first “coffee bar”, won multiple awards and open since 1991!
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
- Prepare food and beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the café area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Operate the POS system efficiently for order processing and payment handling.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, including coffee selections.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain inventory levels of food and beverage supplies, reporting shortages as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Ensure highest quality of coffee extraction and espresso beverages, conforming to company standards at all times.
- Ensure espresso and coffee-related equipment are in good working order, properly cleaned, sanitized and well-maintained at all times.
- Ensure product freshness and best presentation of espresso and coffee beverages, and bakery display cases
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would be successful with the following abilities:
· Barista and Café experience with a minimum of 1 year’s experience and familiarity with food handling
· Must enjoy providing exceptional customer service
· Commitment to boost customer satisfaction and loyalty
· Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining excellent customer service
· Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a friendly demeanor
· Energetic, outgoing, and self-motivated
· Provide excellent attention to detail. Punctual. Neat and clean appearance
· Eagerness to keep the café very clean
· Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform bending and lifting tasks
· Create an environment that build energy, vitality, and fun to produce happy customers and team
