Job Summary:

The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures, guidelines, and equipment to promote and ensure the health and safety of all employees at BES. This role involves fostering a safety culture to continually identify and mitigate safety risks. In addition to managing safety, this role also includes oversight and management of the company’s fleet of vehicles and equipment. Strong coordination skills, and a proactive approach to fleet.

 

Duties/ Responsibilities:

Identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and equipment theft. Inspect safety equipment and recommend replacements when necessary. Conduct investigations into asset loss. Maintains knowledge of best practices in hazard prevention, safety equipment, and developments.

Offers expert guidance on best practices for identifying and reducing exposure to hazardous conditions. Keeps up-to-date with hazard prevention, safety best practices, equipment, and developments.

Conduct site tours and communicate with workers to identify safety risks and concerns. Draft reports that highlight dangerous procedures, equipment, and other identified risks for management review. Review existing safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates. Develop and implement a system for reporting, monitoring, and correcting safety issues as well as policies and procedures.

Supports the enforcement of safety regulations while promoting a strong safety culture. Provides informed input for strategic fleet investments. Promotes efficient usage and long-term strategies for upgrading and improving fleet assets.

Collaborates with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representatives during audits and inspections; documents corrective actions taken. Adopts a proactive approach to ensuring a safe working environment and provides training and guidance to employees through safety bulletins, documentation, and training meetings.

Work directly with a team of mechanics and shop personnel to assist with daily maintenance and operational functionality of the company’s equipment and vehicles.

Enforces safety regulations and fosters a robust safety culture. Provides informed input for strategic fleet investments. Promotes efficient usage and long-term strategies for upgrading and enhancing fleet assets.

 

Required Skills/ Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health

Administration (OSHA) standards.

Ability to identify unsafe situations or potentially unsafe situations. Thorough understanding of electrical principles and health and safety laws.

Conduct visual inspections to assess safety practices and conditions.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Required to travel to job sites as well as all company locations.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software. Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Capable of effectively training and interacting with staff to promote the best practices in the operation of equipment and vehicles.

 

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is desired. A minimum of 4 years of experience in a safety management or a related role is preferred, particularly in the construction industry. Experience with fleet management is also desired.

Successful Completion of the OSHA 30 Certification OSHA DOL Card

Experience in the electrical construction environment preferred.

Skilled in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
