Position Overview:
Bear King Brewing is looking for a knowledgeable and self-sufficient Taproom Bartender to join our team at our Cottonwood location. This role is perfect for someone who thrives working independently and has a passion for craft beer. As the Taproom Bartender, you will be the face of Bear King Brewing, providing exceptional service, educating guests about our beer selection, and managing the bar solo during most shifts. Starting pay is $15 an hour plus tips.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve a variety of Bear King beers, offering recommendations and ensuring a memorable experience for every guest.
- Educate guests about our beer offerings, including styles, flavor profiles, and the brewing process.
- Handle all bar duties, including pouring, serving, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized space.
- Monitor inventory, restock kegs, and keep the taproom running smoothly.
- Engage with guests, promote our Beer Club program, and build a loyal customer base.
- Ensure compliance with TABC laws and company policies.
- Independently open and close the bar, handling cash and end-of-day reporting.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender or server, ideally in a craft beer or taproom setting.
- Strong knowledge of craft beer and an enthusiasm for sharing that knowledge with others.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to lift and move kegs (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills:
- TABC
- Familiarity with Toast POS or any other point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Knowledge of local craft beer trends and the Texas beer scene.
