What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Secretary/Aide position at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital?
Bear Lake Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time Secretary/Aide in the Physical Therapy Department.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Complete the insurance prior authorization process for all therapy treatments.
- Track and monitor patients benefit status and patient statements.
- Scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out and greeting patients in reception area.
- Conduct patient surveys.
- Communicating with third-party payors, doctors’ offices, etc.
- Entering and processing charges and preparing necessary paperwork to support billing.
- Assist with preparing patients and equipment for therapists to administer treatments and perform tasks to maintain the department in an orderly condition.
- Responsible for organization of all cabinets and restocking/ordering of supplies.
- May be responsible for daily cleaning of the gym.
- Prepare equipment such as hot or cold packs, etc.
- May assist in the removal and replacement of braces, splints, and slings from patients’ bodies before and after treatments. Assist therapists to support patient during ambulation and gait training.
- Change linens and clean and store equipment after use.
- Attend administrative and quality improvement meetings.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must be able to type 35-40 words per minute and have good computer skills. Good people skills. Strong abilities in verbal and written communication. Good organizational skills. Ability to multi-task. Flexibility. Ability to schedule time effectively. Prioritize work appropriately. Ability to work as a team within and throughout departments/workgroups. Positive attitude. Commitment to quality improvement efforts. Transcription experience would be very helpful. Previous office management experience would be a plus.
