Bear Mountain at reading is currently looking for a Part-time 24 hours per week Dietician
SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Dietitian is primarily responsible for assessment and evaluation of residents’ nutritional needs in skilled nursing facilities and/ or assisted living facilities providing counseling to residents and family members to promote health and wellness and control of disease.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to meet all health, compliance, and competency requirements
Ability to read, write, and speak English; and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
One to three years of professional experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff and professional colleagues.
Ability to perform all assigned tasks in accordance with the Facility’s established policies and procedures, and as directed by supervisors.
Ability to complete required orientation as directed by the facility.
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Has successfully completed state required background check and is eligible to work in the facility.
Knowledge and understanding of regulatory process i.e. Federal, and/ or State Regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of the RAI Process.
Familiar with the Nutrition Care Process, utilizes PES statements administering Medical Nutrition Therapy to residents.
Skill to apply principles of personnel administration to interviewing, selection, supervision of employees, scheduling and monitoring departmental activities.
Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet)
Registered Dietitian or completion of approved baccalaureate degree with major studies in Food and Nutrition and eligible for RD exam.
One (1) year clinical experience in health care setting or completion of an accredited internship.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration or eligible.
Licensed Dietitian, where required.
