POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible to examine rooms prior to guests arriving and conduct inspections upon their departure to assess if any damages have occurred. Function as the primary contact between housekeeping personnel and other staff members to make certain that rooms are ready for guests and meet Bear River Casino Resorts high standards for sanitation and appearance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Inspect each room, bathroom, and hallway to ensure that high standards of housekeeping are adhered to.
- Being a member of the housekeeping Team and regularly acting as a housekeeper for one or more rooms during assigned shift, in addition to inspection duties.
- Give mentorship and assistance to Guest Room Attendants to ensure that they deliver high-quality services.
- Inspecting clean hotel rooms.
- Ensuring everything is kept clean and inspected prior to guest check-in.
- Surveying rooms after checkout and taking note of any damage or missing items.
- Identify security concerns and report any damages, theft, or found articles to management.
- Maintaining a professional image while on duty with well grooming hygiene and prescribed uniform.
- Works with highly sensitive information, maintains confidentiality and discretion in all areas, including planning and promotional procedures and guest information files.
- Document all inspection work performed within a day, ensuring the pre-established documentation processes are followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have direct supervisory authority.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Minimum six (6) months as a guest room attendant in a hotel operation.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None
COMPUTER OPERATIONS
- Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
- Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
- Must have positive attitude.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to stand on feet for entire shift. Must be able to stand, carry, reach, twist, bend and squat frequently. Ability to work in crowded and noisy environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Being able to multitask, concentrate and communicate in this environment is a must. This not a smoke free workplace. Although we employee state of the art filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment. Employee smoking is only permitted in designated employee areas during work hours. May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, and/or fumes.
