POSITION SUMMARY: A Slot Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all slot machine products while on duty, ensuring that the Bear River Casino Resort guests have the best product possible for their entertainment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Will inspect, maintain and repair all slot machines.
- Assist with deliveries, installs, removal, conversions and moves.
- Troubleshoot machines and other gaming components accurately and repair/replace as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on slot machine on a scheduled basis.
- Assist with customer service on the slot floor when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Will follow casino and departmental policies and procedures, as well as OSHA safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a mechanical, electrical and/or slot machine related field.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in customer service.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- None
COMPUTER OPERATIONS
- Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
- Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A slot technician must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours in a smoking environment. Must be able to bend, reach, squat and able to lift at least seventy-five pounds (75 lb.).

This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state of the art filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the environment. Employee smoking is only permitted in designated employee areas during working hours.
