Responsibilities:
- Must receive individual training for GAIN assessments.
- Completes assessments or oversees completion of assessments.
- Prepares individual treatment plans which assign clients to tracks of group therapy and individual sessions.
- Creates schedules for clients that assign them to a home group.
- Identifies individual therapist by topic and creates a plan to address obstacles to recovery.
- Creates a discharge Plan that establishes a plan for additional recovery supports including IOP, Outpatient, Individual Therapy, Support Groups and/or Sober Living.
- Use ASAM Guidelines and Payer definition of medical necessity to review or establish a level of care and length of stay.
- Must receive individual training for GAIN Assessments.
- Works with Clinical Billing Team and is responsible for completing forms to appeal or extend authorizations.
- Upon referrals from Group Leaders, review a client’s goals as part of the behavior correction policy to either issue a written warning or a behavioral plan.
- The best practice is to see each client on the client’s first full day of residential treatment and no less than one time every 14 days.
- Responsible for making sure the team executes the Treatment Plan and any and all needs identified in the Treatment Plan are either treated, deferred to after care or referred by the plan of care.
- Provide structured assessment, accurate diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Provide individual, group and family therapy sessions.
- Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and relapse education.
- Provide SUD assessments for courts, driver reevaluation, and others as necessary.
- May be required to observe same sex drug testing.
- Attend all staff meetings.
- On call shifts may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience required.
- Possess a valid license to practice as a Therapist issued by the Michigan LARA.
- Limited License Master’s Degree and Licensed PC or higher.
- Adhere to all ethics pertaining to profession and maintain all CEU credits for mental health licensure.
- Experience in substance abuse and dual diagnosis counseling within a residential treatment facility preferred.
- Experience with providing prevention and early intervention behavioral health services.
- Must have treatment experience with strong professional references attesting to high degree of clinical sophistication.
- Trained to independently diagnose and treat mental health and substance abuse problems.
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR.
- Ability to apply for and obtain CAADC.
- Must understand ASAM criteria, medical necessity
- Must be on a Development Plan
- Must be MCBAP certified
