What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Lead position at Bear s Restaurant Group?
Position Summary:
Shift Leads play a key role in the Bear’s Smokehouse management team assisting the Managers with daily operations and staff oversight. Shift leads should be prepared to always lead by example in regards to all Bear’s Policies, team member expectations and uniform standards They must also be able to hold teammates accountable to those same standards. Shift leads are often tasked with store opening/closing responsibilities and must be prepared to communicate potential issues on shift with the General Manager.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age and candidate must be able to:
- Maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time while performing with quality and accuracy.
- Withstand exposure to possible food allergens including but not limited to; meats, fish, nuts, dairy, and oils.
- Withstand exposure to and work with cleaning chemicals.
- Lift up to 40lbs constantly.
- Lift from floor to shoulder constantly and overhead infrequently.
- Twist, reach, & bend frequently.
- Listen to and comprehend instructions from Leads, Managers, and coworkers over background restaurant and equipment noise constantly.
- Frequently wash hands.
- Adhere to schedule and be on time for shifts.
- Adhere to company uniform and appearance policy.
Skills/Qualifications of Ideal Candidate:
- High School degree or equivalent preferred and/or 1 year experience in related industry.
- Good communication skills, friendly and polite demeanor.
- Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant.
- Strong interpersonal skills; Team player.
- Strong leadership skills
