JOB SUMMARY

A Dishwasher/Roundsman role is to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the entire restaurant. This role is responsible for thoroughly and efficiently cleaning dishes, utensils, and equipment while adhering to strict food safety and cleanliness standards at all times. In addition to back-of-house responsibilities, the Dishwasher/Roundsman contributes to a clean and organized dining and FOH area by sanitizing tables, retrieving food trays, cleaning the sauce station, and restocking the condiment station. Other duties include taking out the trash, sweeping, performing general cleaning tasks, and assisting with food preparation as needed. This position is critical to creating a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for both guests and team members.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Kitchen Cleaning: Clean cooking areas, utensils, and equipment using appropriate cleaning chemicals. Wash and sort trays, utensils, and equipment parts as needed.
  • Equipment and Food Prep Handling: Safely operate food preparation equipment such as dish machines and knives.
  • Trash and Stocking: Empty trash cans and dispose of garbage properly. Perform light stocking tasks as required.
  • Floor and Exterior Maintenance:Sweep and mop floors regularly. Keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice during inclement weather, maintaining general cleanliness.
  • Order Management: Receive truck orders, verify inventory accuracy, and organize items systematically. Store delivery orders following proper food hierarchy standards.
  • Food Safety and Preparation: Consistently practice safe food handling and maintain cleanliness. Assist with food preparation, adhering to company recipes and production levels.
  • Light Maintenance Duties: Perform minor cleaning tasks such as dusting and maintaining high surfaces.
  • Guest Area Maintenance: Maintain an exceptionally clean guest area by sanitizing tables, retrieving trays, and ensuring a welcoming environment. The dishwasher/roundsman is expected to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times, especially when performing tasks in guest areas.

WORK SCHEDULE

Flexibility is essential, as evening, weekend, and holiday availability are required to meet the demands of the restaurant. Additionally, Line Team members must ensure their availability aligns with and supports the operational success of the restaurant.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, and/or at least 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • Excellent communication abilities with a friendly and polite demeanor.
  • Solid understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a restaurant environment.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING REQUIRED

  • Successful completion of company training program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting while managing and executing restaurant operations.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including tables, equipment, food and event supplies.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers is required for various tasks essential to restaurant operations, such as handling knives, operating a combi oven, and other related duties.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, essential for interacting with staff, guests, and event partners.
  • Strong visual acuity for reading and analyzing data on computer screens, event layouts, or printed documents.
  • Sharp hearing acuity to communicate and respond effectively in loud environments with significant background noise, typical of restaurant and event settings.
  • Withstand exposure to possible food allergens including but not limited to; meats, fish, nuts, dairy, and oils.
  • Withstand exposure to and work with cleaning chemicals.
