Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals, particularly children, who have developmental disabilities and autism. This role involves implementing behavior management strategies, developing care plans, and providing patient care to enhance the quality of life for our clients. The Behavioral Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical documentation and collecting data to track progress.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address specific behavioral needs.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Conduct data collection and analysis to monitor client progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Maintain thorough medical documentation in compliance with organizational policies.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Participate in training sessions related to applied behavior analysis (ABA) and other relevant methodologies.
- Support clients in achieving their personal goals through structured activities and engagement.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Strong skills in medical documentation and data collection methods.
- Ability to develop effective care plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- A background in patient care or related fields is highly desirable.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
