Job Summary:
As a Mechanical Designer, you'll support both ongoing engineering and new product development for our equipment product lines. Your focus will be on creating functional, safe, and cost-effective designs using SolidWorks, while closely collaborating with Product Engineers, Manufacturing, and the Production Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and model mechanical designs using SolidWorks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support both new and existing product lines
Produce production-ready documentation including detailed drawings, BOMs, and process instructions
Support the production floor by resolving manufacturing issues in a timely and effective manner
Assist with initial cost estimates and design documentation
Provide technical support to departments including Sales, Customer Service, Inventory, and Engineering
Qualifications:
Required:
Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent education/experience
Minimum 3 years of experience using SolidWorks in a manufacturing environment
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, parametric design, and detail drafting
Broad understanding of:
Machine structures and mechanisms
Metal fabrication and manufacturing processes
Familiarity with hydraulics, electronics/electrical systems, pneumatics, and machine controls (based on product line)
Preferred:
Experience with sheet metal, surface modeling, and wiring harnesses in SolidWorks
Knowledge of welding processes, fixture/tooling design
Background in hydraulics and pneumatics
Basic experience in electronics or machine control systems
