Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Indirect Category Manager to lead sourcing, vendor management, and spend optimization across non-product procurement categories in a fast-paced environment focused on LMR, video surveillance, access control, and security systems distribution and services. This role will bring centralized control, cost efficiency, and supplier alignment across categories such as travel, facilities, IT, professional services, and subcontractor support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage indirect spend across categories including Travel & Expense, IT & Telecom, Subcontractors, Facilities, Professional Services, Office Supplies, and Equipment Rentals
- Partner with field service and operations teams to define category needs and consolidate suppliers
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, operational efficiency, and risk reduction
- Own the end-to-end sourcing process, including RFPs, negotiations, and contract execution
- Implement vendor management programs with SLAs, performance tracking, and regular reviews
- Improve visibility into tail spend and maverick buying, driving policy and compliance
- Support integration of newly acquired businesses into standardized procurement policies and supplier base
- Collaborate with AP, Legal, and Finance on contract compliance, spend tracking, and budgeting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 5 years in procurement or sourcing, with focus on indirect categories
- Experience supporting service and distribution-based businesses (field services, branch ops, tech deployment)
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor performance management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed, high-growth environment
Proficient in Excel, ERP systems, and sourcing tools
Preferred Experience
- Background in security, telecom, or field service industries
- Familiarity with managing subcontractor labor, technology vendors, and facility operations spend
- Experience in M&A environments or integrating decentralized spend into a centralized structure
