As a JDE Systems Analyst, you are recognized as a technical expert in application programming, systems design and analysis, and/or systems software. Incumbent translates strategic technical objectives into specific projects, identifying impact and integration issues across multiple technical areas, with responsibility for overall development, organization and implementation of technical projects that may involve complex integration of hardware, software, communications and performance issues.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and resolves the most complex technical programming problems, including those which cross-functional/organization lines.
- Resident expert for technology changes in application programming, especially as relates to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system.
- Designs and executes master file update programs.
- Develops advanced internal applications programming techniques.
- Develops the most complex programming specification utilizing the most sophisticated mathematical or logical techniques.
- Designs major computer systems, coordinating work on sub-systems, and integrating new applications with established systems and files.
- Confers with various systems users to develop areas of changes in their requirements which will permit greater efficiency, systems integration, or cost reduction.
- Evaluates machine utilization to redesign or modify existing and proposed applications, to gain more efficient operations, or to expand the system.
- Investigates new procedures, equipment, or operating systems to determine their usefulness and applicability to the operation.
- Assists MIS management in developing systems analysis standards.
- Provides consultative direction to application programming, systems software, computer center operations, and user personnel in the planning and scheduling of systems projects which cross functional lines or are the most complex in nature.
- Investigates the most technically complex software problems and coordinates problem resolution with software vendors, hardware manufacturers, and/or appropriate in-house personnel.
- Stays abreast of technological changes and developments that impact the organization’s software and ability to meet business challenges.
- Evaluates and recommends to management the acquisition of new software systems.
- Designs and monitors the implementation of maintenance procedures for new software systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years of hands-on experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One as a Systems Analyst or similar role
- Experience supporting JDE Finance, Sales, and Purchase order Modules.
- Knowledge of JDE database, common tables, and relationships between them.
- Knowledgeable in JDE setup of UDC tables, application constants, processing options, etc.
- Ability to prototype, test, walk through business processes in test system.
- Excellent communication skills – ability to speak in both technical and business jargon.
- Detail-oriented, critical thinker with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with JD Edwards Orchestrator
- Knowledge of Groovy language
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and queries
