Veterinary Receptionist *WILLING TO TRAIN

Job Description

The Receptionist is responsible for all aspects of front desk and phone interaction within our fast-paced, multi-doctor, mixed animal veterinary hospital. The main responsibilities of the Receptionist center around Customer Service (communication with clients), Scheduling (using Cornerstone Idexx computer software), ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a healthy clinic culture.

DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Answering the Phone
• Scheduling Appointments
• Appropriately documenting messages for Doctors
• Entering charges
• Collecting Payment
• Calling clients for reminders
• Filling prescriptions/ filing charts/ transcribing health certificates
• Presenting a positive front desk experience to our clients
• Representing the Practice in the community through participation in local events as needed

Requirements

• Ability to work 36 hours a week and Saturdays on a rotating basis
• Minimum 2 years receptionist experience
• Knowledge of hospital/ veterinary practice and procedures.
• Handles sensitive and confidential information discreetly.
• Motivated self starter who works with little direction
• Ability to identify issues and formulate solutions
• Excellent communication skills
• Conflict management skills
• Experience leading, encouraging, and communicating with a diverse work force
• Ability to organize work and establish and maintain files and records.
• Technologically proficient in Cornerstone Idexx or equivalent practice management software
• Ability to physically perform the essential functions of the position.

• 8 hour shift
