Job Summary : The After-School Teacher will be responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and faith-based learning atmosphere for children ages 5-12 in our after-school program. This role involves planning and implementing activities that promote creativity, social skills, and spiritual growth as well as attending field trips.
Responsibilities :
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans using the school curriculum, TN SADS, and resources provided by BUMCCP.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children, providing a secure and supportive environment.
- Support the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children through engaging and purposeful activities and play.
- Supervise students during field trips, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Lead discussions and activities related to the trip, enhancing the educational experience. Handle any emergencies or issues that may arise during outings, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their personal and spiritual development through individual attention and group interaction.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and concerns.
- Work closely with other staff members to create a cohesive after-school program that aligns with the center’s mission and values.
- Driving Responsibilities
- Safely transport children from their school to BUMCCP, field trips, and other activities using a bus, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and DHS regulations.
