JOB SUMMARY:
Beasley Weddings & Events is searching for a professional and compassionate bi-lingual person who is comfortable with speaking in front of crowds. The ideal candidate will speak and write fluent English and Spanish, with the ability to translate side by side and have knowledge of wedding culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Wedding Officiant will be responsible for conducting various ceremonies in English and Spanish.
- Conduct Wedding Ceremonies: Lead personalized and meaningful wedding ceremonies, including traditional and non-traditional options, tailored to the couple’s beliefs, preferences, and style.
- Consult with Couples: Meet with couples in advance to discuss their vision for the ceremony, including vows, readings, and any special elements they wish to incorporate.
- Legal Documentation: Ensure marriage license is properly signed and provided to couple at ceremony.
- Create Custom Ceremonies: Develop and personalize ceremony scripts based on the couple's requests, cultural traditions, and any special requests.
- Maintain Professionalism: Represent the wedding service, Beasley Weddings & Events, with professionalism, at all times, maintaining a calm and comforting presence.
- Support and Guidance: Offer emotional support, advice, and encouragement to couples as they prepare for the big day.
- Coordinate with Other Vendors: Work alongside wedding planners, photographers, and other vendors to ensure seamless execution of the ceremony.
- Prepare for Different Settings: Conduct ceremonies in various venues and settings, including religious sites, outdoor locations, private homes, and more.
- Stay Current on Wedding Trends: Keep up-to-date with wedding trends and traditions, bringing fresh ideas to couples while honoring their individual preferences.
- Translate: If needed, translate wedding transcripts or translate live during a ceremony.
- Help Promote: Join social media groups related to weddings in the operational areas and suggest Beasley Weddings, the more we are promoted, the more opportunity for your services to be utilized.
- Travel: Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel for ceremonies/rehearsals.
Qualifications:
- Must speak and write fluent English and Spanish
- Prior experience officiating weddings or related ceremonies (preferred but not required).
- Must be legally authorized to officiate weddings in the applicable jurisdiction (we will provide, if not already obtained)
- Strong verbal communication and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups and respect different cultural, religious, and personal beliefs.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized.
- High level of professionalism, especially in high-stress situations.
- Compassionate, approachable, and couple-oriented.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Compensation:
- Competitive pay per wedding ceremony, with potential for additional tips or gratuities.
- Travel reimbursement may be offered for long-distance weddings.
