Beat Capital Partners (Beat) is a venture capital investor and a platform for P&C insurance businesses. Beat helps entrepreneurial insurance underwriters launch their own MGAs through offering funding, a full suite of ‘plug and play’ services, insurance paper, and expertise, and is backed by Bain Capital, Elliott and Amwins. Since launching in 2017, Beat has grown rapidly in the UK and Bermuda - its eight businesses write over $500M in annual premium - and is now expanding to the US. Beat is working to stand up and support multiple US MGAs each year.
Beat’s US business is seeking an Underwriting Support Operations Analyst - Insurance to be an early and critical member of the US team. Beat is building a diverse team of talented individuals and offers tremendous opportunity for professional growth.
Responsibilities
The main role for the Underwriting Support Operations Analyst – Insurance will be to work closely with businesses on the Beat platform to ensure smooth functioning of all operational processes. Day-to-day functions include :
- Serve as supporting underwriting assistant in the early months of each business, helping get them off the ground - which will include direct support of the full spectrum policy administration duties such as submission clearance, rating, quote letters, binding, invoicing, issuance, etc.
- Ensure all underwriting assistants within various Beat businesses are trained and operating efficiently.
- Monitor policy admin system data to ensure consistency and accuracy. Oversee any outsourced providers assisting with data entry.
- Assist on broker engagement – assist with producer agreements, serve as point of contact for broker inquiries, ensure broker data is accurate, and produce reporting needed by brokers.
- Assist businesses in receiving and maintaining Delegated Underwriting Authority from insurers. Assist with due diligence and audits, working closely with the businesses.
- Oversee cash, collateral, and bank account and trust management - including monitoring billing, reconciling cash in Beat’s policy administration system, ensuring collateral accounts are in compliance, and setting up and managing bank and trust accounts.
- Assist with claims reporting and claims management.
- Document current processes and helping develop even better processes.
- Prepare metrics and presentations.
- Other ad hoc work as requested.

Salary range of $80k to $100k. Discretionary bonus is paid in addition to salary. Beat also offers a full suite of benefits, including medical, dental and vision, and a 5% 401k match.]
Key Details
This role will report to the Director of Operations and work closely with the Beat teams in the US and UK. The role is based in Tampa, Florida. Some travel may be required. 8am Eastern start time given extensive work with London.

Please be advised that this role does require direct experience supporting Property & Casualty Underwriting with a US Carrier, MGA or Agency. Applicants whose previous insurance experience is limited to claims, banking, or mortgage underwriting are not qualified for this role. While the role is hybrid - it will require applicants to report to work at the Tampa, Florida office on a daily basis during training and orientation. Lastly, this role does require some travel (a limited amount).
