Job Summary: We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our Litigation Practice Group as a Docket Management Professional. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- E-file and obtain documents using PACER, NYSCEF, New Jersey eCourts, and other court resources.
- Assist in the preparation of briefs and documents in support of motion practice.
- Search and extract information from court-related databases and websites.
- Participate in our firm's eDiscovery procedures.
- Arrange for service of subpoenas and summons using our preferred process servers.
- Manage the Litigation Practice Group calendar and iManage.
- Interact with personnel from multiple departments at various levels within the firm.
Requirements:
- An associate degree or higher is required; any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position is preferred.
- Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience within a law firm environment is preferred.
- Experience with PACER, NYSCEF, New Jersey eCourts, and similar filing systems is necessary.
