Safety Professional
Beaty Construction, Inc. has an opening for an experienced safety professional with a background in heavy civil construction preferred, but not required. The safety professional works closely with other members of the safety department to implement organizational safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable in OSHA Standards.
- Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Plans and conducts safety training to include but not limited to:
- OSHA 30
- Confined Space
- Fall Protection
- PPE
- Scaffolding
- Defensive Driving
- Forklift
- Aerial Lift
- Rigging/Signaling
- Flagger
- Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and assists in the preparation of material and evidence.
- Assist with drug testing program.
- Write safety plans, JHAs and JSAs per client protocol.
- Assist with completing safety prequalification’s for clients and contractors.
- Confidence to intervene when you notice any unsafe activity.
- Become a reliable safety source for field personnel.
- Conduct regular jobsite and work area inspections. works with crews to effectively eliminate any hazards found and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Support and expand our safety culture to not only new but existing employees.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 Years of experience in the construction industry in a safety position. (preferably in heavy civil)
- Has competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and salesmanship skills.
- Punctuality and attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and teach a team.
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Preferred experience with reporting to safety auditing databases such as Avetta, ISNetworld
- Clean Driving record
