What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Ranger position at Beau Chene Country Club?
Job Summary
The Golf Course Ranger is one of the most visible employees of the facility. This is a fast-paced position that involves assisting other staff and monitoring visitors/members both on and off the golf course. This position is tasked with directing the flow of traffic on the course, enforcing facility rules, assisting visitors/members with course etiquette, alerting management to any golf course problems, promoting the facility and its events and assisting players with any on-course problems. Due tot the nature of the position, the ranger must be pleasant, but firm at the same time have an “Iron hand/fist in a velvet glove” approach. Any refusal by a visitor/member to follow rules, etc. must be reported to the golf shop. Most importantly the Ranger must interact with our visitors/members in a friendly manner.
Day to Day
- Patrols the golf course. Preventing unauthorized persons from using facilities, keep play running smoothly, and assist injured or ill players.
- Prevents players from entering course beyond starting tee.
- Advises players to speed up or slow down to alleviate bottlenecks.
- Light golf course maintenance; rake sand traps, fix ball marks, sweep tee mats, etc.
- Transport signage and people on and off of the golf course
- Be the on-course customer service specialist for the facility
- Check with the golf shop for any unusual or special instructions, such as cart paths only etc.
- Communicate with the golf shop on a regular basis
- Assist visitors/members with any on-course problems
- Enforcing facility rules and regulations
- Be prepared for inclement weather (air horn, rain gear, etc.), understand bad weather procedures and communicate with golf shop during weather alerts as necessary
- Any other necessary duties that aid the staff, health and care of players and courses
Essential Functions

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $8.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
