The Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce (BCBCC) is a certified loan institution approved to initiate loans on behalf of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and U.S. Department of Treasury through its CDFI program. The Loan Officer will play a critical role in processing, closing, managing, and reporting on loans. This position also involves promoting BCBCC’s loan programs, engaging with community members, and supporting local businesses and individuals in accessing financial resources.
Key Responsibilities
1. Loan Processing & Management:
- Review loan products and options with potential applicants, including businesses and individuals, providing guidance on requirements and qualifica
tions.
- Support applicants in completing and submitting accurate loan applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is p
rovided.
- Prepare comprehensive loan files for each submission, ensuring completeness and
accuacy.
- Evaluate loan requests, analyzing applicants' financial data, credit history, and collateral to determine loan
eligiblity.
- Structure loans in compliance with BCBCC, federal funding agency requirements, and federal lending
regultions.
2. Loan Approval & Reporting:
- Prepare loan files for submission to the loan committee, including a recommendation for ap
proval or rejection.
- Present loan applications to the loan committee, explaining the analysis, evaluation, and justi
fication for the loan.
- Maintain regular contact with loan applicants, communicating the progress of the loan process and obtaining any additional
required doumentation.
- Work with the Executive Director to secure funding agency drawdowns and execute
loan awards upon approval.
- Complete timely monthly and quarterly reports to comply with fun
ding agencies’requirements.
- Prepare monthly reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors, detailing loan ac
tivity, status and progress.
3. Customer Engagement & Comunity Outreach:
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone calls, walk-ins, and emails to discuss loan products, eli
gibility, and application processes.
- Make proactive calls to potential and existing customers to develop new loan opportunities and support existi
ng clients in managng their accounts.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Program Manager to schedule and coordinate training and business development programs that sup
port community businsses and borrowers.
- Actively participate in community events, networking, and outreach activities to promote BCBCC’s loan pr
ograms and encourage community engagement.
4. Compliance & dministrative Duties:
- Ensure compliance with all BCBCC, SBA, USDA, and CDFI program requirement
s, lending practices, ad federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all loan activities, ensuring adherence
to data security and cofidentiality standards.
- Manage multiple loan applications, staying organized and
maintaining efficient worflows to meet deadlines.
- Perform other re
lated duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- Proven lending experience with strong sals and customer service skills.
- A successful track record in develop
ing business relationships and etworkin within the community.
Skills:

- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a strong commitment o delivering high-quality service.

financial and loan management software, as well as Microsft Office Suite.

- Ability to participate in networking through professional, business, and community oganizations to promote BCBCC’s programs.
- Willingness to maintain office hours, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and be available, as needed, for evenin
gs or weekends for program presentations, participant recruitment, and BCBCC events.
- Ability to work with inimal supervision.

Preferred Experience:
- Experience work
ing within a certified financial institution, nonprofit organization, or community-focused organization.
- Familiarity wih SBA, USDA, or CDFI loan programs and requirements.
- Knowledge of the financial challenges and
opportunities faced by small businesses, particularly within minority-owned business communities.
