Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited institution with an agreement to enroll and complete an accredited MSN program within five years of hire.
Work Experience:
Required: A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience and a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
Required Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication. Proficiency with commonly used computer software. Ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution.
Work Experience:
Medical-surgical, home health, long-term care, or intermediate level nursing care.

Essential Duties
Clinical assignments include one to two days of clinical, typically during day shift hours. However, evening and night clinical can be considered if it meets the learning objectives of the course.
Lab and theory instruction occurs on the BCCC campus. Theory is primarily delivered in the classroom environment, but may include virtual instruction, based on program needs.

If the chosen candidate does not have teaching experience, they will receive preparation in teaching and learning principles, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, as required by the NC Board of Nursing. The individual will also participate in: Course and curriculum design, development of student learning outcomes, evaluation of curriculum, college committees, advising and registering of nursing students, maintaining office hours, and fulfill all the duties and responsibilities of BCCC faculty.
The chosen candidate will be peer mentored by an experienced faculty member to ensure continuity of program outcomes and a smooth transition into the faculty role.
