The American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center Coordinator is responsible for the development, administration, and evaluation of the AHA Training Center at Beaufort County Community College within the Division of Continuing Education.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Applicant must be a current AHA BLS Instructor in good standing with a Training Center.
Work Experience:
Five (5) years of teaching experience at the ALS level to include BLS CPR Courses. Currently hold “faculty” status at current TC and have deep knowledge of the AHA instructor website.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Associate’s Degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Current provider certifications in AHA BLS CPR, ACLS, and PALS or eligibility to obtain certifications upon employment.

Essential Duties
Under the direction of the Director of EMS, the AHA Training Center Coordinator works cooperatively with BCCC faculty/staff to perform the following:
- Coordinate and schedule AHA course offerings in the college’s four county service area
- Audit AHA class folders for adherence to AHA and BCCC guidelines
- Receipt and process AHA card fees and issue certification cards
- Maintain up-to-date instructor affiliate agreements/contracts
- Perform AHA faculty observations annually in accordance with AHA guidelines
- Maintain appropriate classroom standards that include the effective management of students in the classroom and the management of classroom and lab facilities.
- Identify and/or recommend equipment needed to teach the competencies prescribed in the approved curriculum by the BCCC Board of Trustees, the North Carolina Community College System, and accrediting entities
- Maintain compliance with established North Carolina Community College System performance measures, national benchmarks, etc. for the appropriate curriculum as prescribed by the North Carolina Community College System and accrediting entities
- Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor
- Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner
- Comply with the college’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Faculty and Staff Policy Manual
- Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned by supervisor

Estimated Hours per Week
Up to 60 hours per month/some evening and weekend hours are required
Range
$25.00/ hour - $28.00/ hour Based on the College's salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
