What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Parts Coordinator position at Beaufort County?
The purpose of this position is to provide specialized inventory control work in the receipt, storage and issuance of parts, supplies and equipment essential in the timely support of automobiles, special purpose trucks and vehicles and equipment. Â An employee in a position allocated to this class is responsible for procurement, receiving, stocking and issuing of parts and equipment for a wide variety of specialized motorized equipment. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. Â

- Monitors the movement of stocked parts; monitors new vehicles and equipment entering the fleet and present vehicles and equipment leaving the fleet.Â
- Issues, receives and stores parts and supplies.Â
- Conducts physical inventory of all stock parts and supplies.Â
- Uses parts books or websites to look up parts and supplies.Â
- Orders stock and non-stock parts through outside vendors in a timely and cost-effective manner.Â
- Checks delivery of parts and supplies against the invoices to make sure they were billed and shipped properly.Â
- Distributes equipment and parts to mechanics.
- Solicits quotes from vendors and documents quotes.Â
- Submits warranty claims for vehicles still under original equipment warranty.Â
- Generates monthly department bills and process them for payment.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one (1) year of college.
- Over three months and up to and including six months of inventory control, warehousing.
- Forklift Certification.
- Refrigerant Certification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
