What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Maintenance Technician/Driver position at Beaufort Jasper?
Position Summary
The Fleet Maintenance Technician / Driver will be primarily responsible for maintaining all Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services (BJHCHS) vehicles to include cleaning, assigning, and inspecting vehicles, i.e., lights, tires, fluids, and schedule routine maintenance. The Fleet Maintenance Technician / Driver will also serve as a backup driver for courier services as needed and transport patients to/from appointments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleans, assigns, and inspects all BJHCHS vehicles including lights, tires, fluids. Schedules routine maintenance.
- Transports various parcel types including pharmaceuticals, medical instruments and supplies, mail, documents, etc
- Maintains a valid driver’s license, declaration pages of insurance, and vehicle registration at all times
- Provides timely pick-up and delivery of all parcels (according to time schedules) and maintains proper chain of custody
- Immediately reports any issues while working on assigned routes/orders to dispatch and/or their supervisor
- Safely operates all BJHCHS vehicles and abides by all traffic laws
- Transports patients to and from appointments in a safe manner
- Reports any potentially unsafe conditions to the Director of Facilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum six months related job experience
- A clear and valid SC drivers’ license in good standing required, CDL a plus
