What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Safety/Quality Specialist position at Beaufort Memorial?
Description
Assists with implementing process improvement initiatives that support the reduction of patient / health errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Support departments and the Medical Staff in activities related to risk management, patient safety and quality improvement. Assists with safety assessments, staff education on the system-based causes for patient errors, and implementation of evidence-based programs that support effective patient safety strategies.
Position Requirements
Education :
Bachelor's Degree required, Masters preferred
Experience :
Hospital clinical experience required
Three years of experience in a healthcare enviornment, preferably in the risk management and / or patient safety environment
Previous experience with regulatory requirements, safety / risk / quality management and education preferred
Experience in clinical operations and / or experience working in perofrmance imporvement or quality management areas preferred
Certifications / Licenses :
Active South Carolina RN license required
Certification in patient safety and / or risk management preferred
