Description
The rehabilitation technician is trained, following AOTA, APTA, ASHA and South Carolina occupational therapy and physical therapy licensure laws, to assist physical, occupational and speech therapists with patient care related activities. The rehabilitation technician demonstrates understanding of hand hygiene and infection control standards as it pertains to patient care and the environment for care. The rehabilitation technician maintains adequate stock and condition of patient care supplies and equipment, contributes to service line process improvements and conducts work activities according to department policy and procedure. The Rehabilitation Technician is competent in use and navigation of the computer programs and systems needed to support the activities of the Rehabilitation Services Department. As a rehab tech, the individual performs basic PC, word processing and spread sheet functions in addition to use of the Meditech System. This position is cross trained for inpatient coverage and may be cross trained to back up clerical specialist / PFS in Outpatient settings. Must have working knowledge of office machinery and MS Office functionality needed for daily functions of reception, scheduling, registration, billing and records management. As a member of the Rehabilitation Services department, the rehab tech models proper body mechanics in the completion of their job. Education :
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
