PURCHASING AGENT
JOB SUMMARY:
Works under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager. The Purchasing Agent sources and negotiates prices for parts/materials/equipment/shop supplies; prepares/verifies RFQs/POs, maintains/tracks organized RFQ and PO schedule through delivery, monitors and reports on low inventory.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare RFQs/POs, negotiate price, forward drawings, communicate with vendors/clarify unclear items.
- Recommend alternative sourcing options.
- Monitor and track the delivery of orders from RFQ to PO to delivery.
- Report on the status of delivery schedules.
- Monitor and track expedited orders.
- Resolve shipment errors/returns with suppliers.
- Prepare, analyze and report supply chain costs, planning and logistical data and trends.
- Keep information organized and quickly accessible.
- Hold vendors accountable when shipped dates are missed.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
