This is an 8 hours a day, 2 days a week teaching position.
Job Requirements for Licensed Vocational Program Instructor
Must meet State of California Board of Vocational Nursing requirements:
• Must submit evidence of completion or current attendance in a teaching course.
• A copy of a certificate of completion or transcript from an accredited institution must be submitted.
Submit a copy of the following documents:
• Current, Active California Professional License
• Baccalaureate degree from accredited school, university or college (attach school transcript which shows date degree conferred or copy of college or university diploma.
• Teaching credential or if applicant meets community college or state university teaching requirements.
Faculty Approval Application must be completed with Medical Arts Coordinator. The above information is submitted with the Faculty Approval Application.
Requirements for the Vocational Education Nursing Services Credential
1. Verify five years of work experience directly related to nursing services. (48 semester units of post-secondary vocational training may be substituted for a maximum of two of the five years of work experience.) The experience letters must be on official letterhead, and must contain the following information:
? Employers' name, address, and telephone number
? The working relationship of the person signing the verification to the applicant
? Beginning and ending dates of employment
? Complete description of duties
? A statement as to whether or not the employment was full-time. (If less than full-time, provide an accounting of the number of hours the applicant was employed.)
2. One of the following:
? Possess a high school diploma – OR –
? Possess a diploma based on passage of GED – OR –
? Possess the foreign equivalent of a high school diploma (a foreign transcript evaluation will need to be completed to verify this).
3. U.S. Constitution – applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements:
? Complete a course (at least two semester units or three quarter units) in the provisions and principals of the U.S. Constitution (course description must accompany transcripts) – OR –
? Pass an examination in the Provisions and Principles of the U.S. Constitution given by a regionally accredited junior college, community college, or university
Note: The U.S. Constitution requirement can be waived for one year. The applicant would be granted a one-year preliminary credential instead of a five-year preliminary. After the requirement is met, the document will be extended for the additional four-year period.
4. California nursing license (LVN or RN)
5. Copy of transcripts (showing BS degree), if applicable.
6. Fingerprinting (A total of $112.00 – This covers the cost to be fingerprinted for the Commission ($68) and BUSD ($44). This must be money order or cash.
7. $55.00 money order payable to CTC for the vocational nursing services credential.
