Led by Camiel, a New York State licensed cosmetologist, the salon specializes in the care and treatment of natural, healthy hair. The salon is committed to providing a welcoming personalized beautifying experience in a relaxed atmosphere, fostering long-term relationships with our valued clients. As an apprentice, you will receive hands-on training under the guidance of a certified and experienced professional, gaining expertise in a variety of services, including silk press, natural hair treatments, protective styling, extension techniques, custom coloring, specialized haircuts, and other full salon services.
We are seeking motivated, friendly, and capable individuals eager to learn in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate obtains a valid NYS cosmetology license and has a strong desire to collaborate with an experienced hairstylist. Responsibilities include greeting clients, shampooing, detangling, blow-drying, checking clients in and out, and supporting both clients and stylists with any additional needs. The position offers hands-on training providing opportunities to learn advanced techniques in cutting, silk press, and extensions.
- Greet clients warmly, escort them to the restroom and offer beverages or snacks to enhance their experience.
- Shampoo, detangling and applying hair treatments as part of the client service.
- Blow-dry and braid down style hair according to client preferences and stylist guidance.
- Assist stylists by providing tools, equipment, and products during appointments.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills to ensure appointments run efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain cleanliness in the salon by sterilizing tools, sweeping hair, and keeping the space organized.
- Restock products, organize product areas and retail items to ensure availability for clients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the suite, hallways, and break room at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels and promptly notify stylists when supplies are running low.
- Process client payments accurately at the conclusion of appointments.
- Perform administrative tasks related to appointment scheduling and client management.
- Promote and sell hair care products to clients.
- Schedule client appointments and maintain up-to-date client records and databases.
- Answer phone calls and greet clients with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Input client information into the system accurately for record-keeping.
- Hold a valid NYS cosmetology license.
