Position Summary
The HR/Recruiting Specialist will support the HR Manager, HR Generalist, and hiring managers by understanding and supporting the recruiting needs of the business, and proactively seek and maintain a qualified candidate pool. They will also support the pre-employment process, schedule interviews, coordinate pre-hire paperwork, set up drug tests and background screens, and facilitate onboarding, in addition to answering general HR and benefits questions to existing and future employees.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
- Establish recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with hiring managers to discuss needs.
- Attract applicants by placing job advertisements on job sites and researching the best source to use depending on the position BMSC is seeking.
- Identify target companies, user groups, colleges, community services, and professional associations that could inform search parameters.
- Attend job fairs and other hiring events to maximize hiring efforts.
- Be knowledgeable about the company image that is presented on hiring websites and do their best to improve that and/or keep it the best image possible.
- Determine applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and job qualifications.
- Update and maintain BMSC job descriptions for recruiting needs, as well as updating them in the LMS system.
- Determine applicant qualifications by screening applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
- Arrange interviews by coordinating schedules, escorting applicant to interviews, and arranging facility tours.
- Coordinate offers, pre-employment testing/screening, training, and start dates for new hires.
- Monitor background vendor activity in process, and work in tandem with vendors to promptly complete applicant background and drug testing.
- Liaise with the Safety and Training Manager and Quality, hiring manager, and HR Generalist to finalize start dates for new hires.
- Assist with GMP, Safety, and job level trainings, as needed.
- Assist with temporary employee vendors to help staff, as well as review temporary weekly payroll and hours.
- Manage the conversion of temp-to-perm employees.
- Ensure compliance with all related State and Federal Laws, regulations, and policies.
- Provide administrative support for the HR Manager, as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times using GMP and SOP guidelines.
- Understand and abide by the Company Employee Manual at all times.
- Maintain private and crucial information.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills Required
- Strong sourcing, candidate research, and phone screening skills.
- Experience in a CPG Manufacturing Environment a plus.
- Must be detailed-oriented and result driven with good problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is required.
Experience Required
- BA in HR or business field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of current Recruiting/Talent Acquisition experience required.
- Previous experience managing requisitions in an ATS required.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
