Logistics Manager
Position Summary
This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all logistic operations for all inbound and outbound shipments. Responsible for the timely delivery of goods to destination. The Logistics Manager is to monitor the entire delivery process of products by working with those who schedule both inbound and outbound shipments and constantly review the transportation schedule to ensure each product arrives on time.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Promote safe working practices.
- Manage and develop the logistics staff.
- Develop new strategies to streamline transportation processes, ultimately resulting in cost reduction.
- Select and manage carriers for transportation.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers.
- Ensure that quality, quantity, and customer satisfaction are met.
- Perform metrics reporting and data analysis to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements.
- Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
- Partner and communicate with manufacturers, suppliers, and customers.
- Support the resolution of complaints and problems related to inbound and outbound freight.
- Update trackers to support transparency to customers and Sales.
- Work with other departments to incorporate customer logistic processes with company procedures and operations.
- Oversee the distribution, movement, and storage of inventory.
- Arrange repairs and routine maintenance of transportation vehicles.
- Comply with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules and government regulations.
- Manage the WSA area in warehouse and waste removal, schedule waste company pickups, and create pickup information such as BOLs and other supporting waste documentation.
Technical Skills Required

- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
Experience Required
- 2 to 5 years of experience working in the logistics field
- Warehouse work experience desired.
- 3 years of operational and leadership experience required.
Physical Requirements
- Employees may be asked to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Works inside in an open office environment; must be available to work 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
