Position Summary
The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for supporting both purchasing and warehouse operations by processing purchase orders, tracking shipments, coordinating logistics, and maintaining accurate data in company systems. This role works under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, ensuring timely supply chain execution while coordinator with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Process and track purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with company guidelines.
- Maintain order confirmations from suppliers and follow up on late purchase orders weekly, updating records accordingly.
- Input and update data in X3, including pricing updates and other necessary changes.
- Maintain shared spreadsheets and data sources for efficient tracking and reporting.
- Act as a backup shipping coordinator, executing customer load shipments, handling paperwork, and processing system transactions.
- Track shipments and provide timely updates to the Supply Chain team.
- Schedule dock appointments with carriers and vendors, maintaining tracking via spreadsheet.
- Support facilitation of meetings as needed to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Assist in managing logistics coordination, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Prepare routine reports and data summaries via Excel for internal team use.
- Operate as a liaison between departments to ensure clear communication and resolution of issues.
- Routinely communicate updates and shipment tracking details to the Supply Chain team.
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry and basic reporting functions.
- Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems (e.g., X3) or other supply chain software is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise updates via email or other communication channels.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with supply chain coordination, purchasing, or logistics is preferred.
Experience Required
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in purchasing, logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with MRP systems, spreadsheets, and data management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work in an office and warehouse setting with occasional exposure to varying temperatures, warehouse equipment, and moderate noise levels.
