PURPOSE OF POSITION

Sales Associates are responsible for generating sales by creating positive and lasting customer experiences, maintaining store/visual presentation and adhering to operational standards as outlined by the corporate and store management teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Influence customer buying decisions, by communicating information about the quality, value and style of product.
• Positively and proactively help solve problems for our customers and can balance multiple customers in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Greet and engage customers in the store.
• Ability to recognize and execute selling opportunities
• Achieve personal sales goals and objectives as determined by store management, assist store in achieving sales goals and objectives as determined by the company;
• Utilize sales skills and techniques as well as exceptional customer service to drive store sales.
• Proactively educate yourself on current and accurate knowledge of product features, benefits and availability.
• Demonstrates a high level of integrity, upholds all company policies;
• Maintains store appearance to merchandising & cleanliness standards.
• Answer phones courteously and promptly
• Contributes to build and maintain a positive morale in store
• Maintains a positive, upbeat and energetic demeanor
• Actively participate in store meetings and training sessions.
• Promote a strong sense of teamwork by working together safely, effectively, respectfully and efficiently with all associates.
• Support all efforts and initiatives across all business channels in an effort to maximize company sales growth and profitability.
• Guarantees Company assets by ensuring adherence to all Loss Prevention procedures

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Education & Formal Training

• High School Diploma required or General Education Degree (GED)

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to examine issues both strategically and tactically
• Ability to determine and shift priorities quickly

Communication Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Work Environment/Hours

• A part-time or full-time hourly non-exempt position working in stores
• Ability to work varying hours and schedules to include days, mid shifts, weekends and holidays.

Experience & Skills

• Previous retail experience preferred
• Must be able to make change using American Monetary units

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Requires ability to rapidly and constantly lift large and heavy packages and boxes and to perform a continuous process of loading and unloading large boxes from truck to store throughout a scheduled shift.
• Able to reach overhead, bend, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, re-stocking inventory, processing shipment and store merchandising.
• The ability to be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
• Must have ability to safely lift minimum of 50 lbs. without restrictions
• Able to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean
• Ability to use and climb ladders safely
• Requires ability to perform repetitive motions

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
