What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Service Representative position at Beaver Dam Hearing Care, LLC?
Just off the freeway in Beaver Dam WI, you will find our small, locally owned and operated hearing healthcare office. With just one location and a staff of 4 people, we are a team that works together to help our community hear and communicate better.
We’re seeking a person who will be the perfect fit to join our team in our audiology practice. Experience is important, but personality traits and attitude are the number one priority. If this is how your co-workers and friends would describe you, we’d like to meet you:
- Always happy, smiles a lot, positive attitude, always a pleasure to be around.
- Accurate, very detailed, gets things right, double checks their own work, makes very few mistakes.
- Friendly, warm, an extrovert, a people person – and comes across the very first time you meet someone, even on the telephone!
- Patient, compassionate, helpful - especially with older people. Even temperament, calm, always pleasant, unflappable. Has a knack for being able to turn a frown into a smile.
- Committed, dedicated, a great teammate, pitches in without being asked, puts team accomplishments ahead of individual accomplishments.
- Owns it: accepts responsibility, credits others for successes and accepts responsibility for failures. Always finds a constructive way to solve a problem.
- Coachable, accepts feedback with a positive attitude. Always looking for ways to grow and improve.
- Reliable, dependable, doesn’t just arrive on time: but makes sure they’re prepared for the day.
These statements also describe the culture we are building. It’s the kind of culture we’re absolutely committed to maintaining. The person we hire has to be a great fit, and we’re prepared to wait until the perfect match comes along.
Experience in customer service is important. Superior verbal and written communication skills are needed for the patients we help daily. Experience in a medical office could be a plus, too. Computer skills (Word, some Excel) are required. We would love someone with experience in medical billing and insurance. Experience with a medical office management system is a plus, but not necessary. Previous experience in hearing care isn’t necessary, we’ll train you and show you what you’ll need to know to communicate with patients effectively.
Occasional travel to attend training conferences may be required (airline travel, hotel stays, both covered by us), generally 2 - 3 days which may include a Saturday, once every other year.
This isn’t just a job: it’s a commitment to a team, serving a real purpose, helping people stay connected with their loved ones and enjoy life. If that appeals to you, and the above description made you say “Hey! That’s me!”, then we’d love to talk.
Of course, we want to see your resume, so send that along. We also want you to describe your perfect job, so send that along too – it’s very important to us.'
