Human Resources Specialist

12 month position (40 hours/week) 8am-4:30pm - Full time benefit eligible position

$25.00-$29.00 per hour

Position Summary: The Beaver Dam Unified School District is seeking a highly skilled, personable, energetic, and detail oriented individual to serve on the Human Resources team as a key resource for staff and the primary support for the Director of Human Resources in a fast paced work environment. This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.

The HR Specialist is responsible for:

  • Serving as the first line of support for staff with HR-related inquiries
  • Onboarding/Offboarding employees
  • Preparing reports for the administration
  • Collecting and tracking insurance and medical paperwork
  • Updating information in the financial management database (Skyward) involving HR functions
  • Maintaining our absence management, evaluations/professional development systems (Frontline).
  • Communicating and maintaining all functions related to district insurance plans
  • Tracking and managing Family Medical Leave
  • Tracking and managing all aspects related to the Affordable Care Act
  • Monitoring licensure compliance for all staff
  • Completing required HR-related reports for both the state and federal government
  • Completing other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two-Year Associates Degree in HR (or) Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree with experience in the HR related field or a proven track record of superb clerical and customer service with an attention to detail and extremely organized with a willingness to learn HR processes, policies, and procedures.
  • *SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP license or willingness to obtain within 18 months of hire.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have a strong desire to learn, proven work ethic, and sound knowledge of school district functions.
  • Ability to process large quantities of information expeditiously and efficiently without errors
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Timely and personable communication skills
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Willingness to work as a team player, learn new skills, cross train through other departments, handle a fast-paced office environment with enthusiasm and professionalism.
