Overview
The Assistant Director supports the Center Director in overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education. This leadership role requires a dynamic individual passionate about fostering a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for children, staff, and families. The Assistant Director serves as a role model for staff, promotes best practices in early childhood education, and assists in administrative responsibilities to maintain compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.

Duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in managing daily operations, ensuring alignment with the center's mission and goals.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support teaching staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Assume the role of Acting Director in the Director's absence.
  • Ensure implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
  • Monitor classrooms to maintain high educational and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with staff to assess and support the developmental needs of children.
  • Build positive relationships with families, addressing concerns and maintaining open communication.
  • Plan and participate in family engagement events and conferences.
  • Maintain accurate records for staff, children, and the facility in compliance with state regulations.
  • Assist with scheduling and enrollment.
  • Conduct onboarding and training for new staff members.
  • Ensure the center meets all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and maintain up-to-date safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • A degree from a recognized university in a child-related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an early childhood setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire others.
  • Experience managing teams effectively while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse learners.

This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to making a difference in the education sector while managing an effective team focused on student success.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
