Overview
The Assistant Director supports the Center Director in overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education. Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in managing daily operations, ensuring alignment with the center's mission and goals.
- Supervise, mentor, and support teaching staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Assume the role of Acting Director in the Director's absence.
- Ensure implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
- Monitor classrooms to maintain high educational and safety standards.
- Collaborate with staff to assess and support the developmental needs of children.
- Build positive relationships with families, addressing concerns and maintaining open communication.
- Plan and participate in family engagement events and conferences.
- Maintain accurate records for staff, children, and the facility in compliance with state regulations.
- Assist with scheduling and enrollment.
- Conduct onboarding and training for new staff members.
- Ensure the center meets all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
- Coordinate emergency drills and maintain up-to-date safety protocols.
Qualifications
- A degree from a recognized university in a child-related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an early childhood setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire others.
- Experience managing teams effectively while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
