POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Manager will coordinate and facilitate improvement projects in a food manufacturing environment. This position will be knowledgeable and experienced in various approaches to process improvement and will identify, plan, execute, and present results from projects focusing on production efficiency improvements, cost savings, and increased revenue.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
· Coordinating between computer and IT-related platforms and “by hand” manual production processes to measure data and identify opportunities for improvement
· Taking initiative to research and learn new and emerging concepts as they relate to project management and process improvement
· Active listening, humility, and strong self-awareness while seeking out advice and experience from SMEs in a culturally diverse workforce
· Extensively plans project roadmaps and defines opportunities for improvement in production using industry leading concepts with minimal guidance and direction
· Applying Six Sigma methodology to difficult problems with unknown solutions to reduce variation and minimize defects
· Applying lean tools to reduce waste and increase efficiency
· Sophisticated data measurement skills with attention to detail and appropriate validation
· Responds to questions, resolves problems, and provides technical and other assistance to staff and team members as needed throughout project life cycles
· Work with quality personnel to understand typical product characteristics, assist with testing methods, and improve quality standards and metrics in the facility
· Iterative design, improvement, and maintenance of production KPIs to be communicated to management and ownership
· Utilize descriptive analytics in determining COPQ for the plant based on data from production errors and defects
· Compile comprehensive datasets and translate these data via “data storytelling” with simple, concise, and effective 1-page summaries
· Assemble multidisciplinary teams and facilitate Kaizen events for improvements in manufacturing processes
· Consistent and highly skilled planning, organizing, and presenting of PowerPoint presentations to the executive team with sustainable results and lessons learned from improvement projects
WORKING HOURS:
A typical work week consists of 40-50 hours. A typical work shift consists of a schedule from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, or , Monday through Friday, with overtime and Saturday work as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) to five (5) years’ experience with improving business processes or relevant project management is required. Relevant college degree(s) may be sufficient in lieu of experience. A self-starter who is flexible and can work without getting flustered in a fast paced and interactive environment. Strong communication and active listening skills in both written and verbal form. Has strong organizational and planning skills, the ability to set priorities, handle deadlines, and manage conflicting demands, while requiring minimal direction and supervision. Possesses the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability. Strong self-awareness and emotional control. Must have exceptional computer skills with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities independently and as part of a team. Humility and servant leadership skills are required. Ability to relay information accurately and succinctly in different mediums to all levels of the organization. Ability to balance multiple priorities and to work under pressure while providing consistent and professional service. Ability to maintain complete confidentiality, possess a professional demeanor, and exercise discretion at all times is a must.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Knowledge of WMS and Legacy system integrations
· Experience in a food manufacturing plant
· Six Sigma, lean, and/or PMP certifications
· Previously quantified and validated results as the leader of improvement projects
· Experience with basic programming in Excel using macros, ActiveX objects, and VBA
· Experience with Microsoft SQL, Tableau, and PowerBI

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
