The Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit is seeking candidates to fill an Anticipated Business Manager Assistant position that is available in the Business Office. The Business Manager Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the Business Manager in managing the financial and administrative operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of governmental accounting, payroll processing, Pennsylvania (PA) School Code, purchasing and accounts payable processes, cash flow management, and auditing procedures. This position requires adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s (PDE) Chart of Accounts and related financial procedures for Pennsylvania School Systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field preferred. Certification in public accounting or school business management preferred.
2. Minimum of 2-3 years of office business experience required. Experience in a School District or Intermediate Unit environment preferred.
3. Proficiency in payroll processing, purchasing, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
4. Strong knowledge of governmental accounting practices and principles.
5. Familiarity with PA School Code, PSERS, VOYA, IRS payroll reporting requirements, and Pennsylvania State Departments of Revenue and Education reporting and compliance.
6. Proficiency in software systems (experience with ProSoft, Oracle, or CSIU preferred).
7. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial data required.
8. Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
10. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
11. Strong communication skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
13. The ability to work as part of a team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of budgets.
2. Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with PA School Code, PDE guidelines and GAAP.
3. Ensure timely processing and reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable.
4. Provide support to payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws, when necessary.
5. Support cash flow management and reporting processes.
6. Manage procurement processes, including vendor selection and contract compliance.
7. Assist in the preparation of financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
8. Reconcile financial accounts and resolve discrepancies with general ledger entries.
9. Maintain complete and accurate records, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive employee information.
10. Assists in the preparation of regular financial, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for the Business Manager and other stakeholders.
11. Maintains accurate and organized documentation for audits, budgeting, and reporting purposes.
12. Work closely with the Business Manager to identify opportunities for process improvement.
13. Provide support and training to business office staff on financial and procedural matters, as needed.
14. Respond to Business Office inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
15. Perform other related duties as directed by the Business Manager and/or the Executive Director of the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Work year of 260 days (twelve (12) months) with commensurate salary and benefits as approved by the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit Board of School Directors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. This is an on-site position at the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit.
2. Primarily office-based with occasional travel for training or professional development.
3. Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk.
4. Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
