About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Career Transition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our transition support services, you will play a vital role in helping service members successfully transition to civilian careers.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will provide one-on-one career counseling, facilitate workshops and briefings, and support military personnel as they prepare for life after service. You will be responsible for assisting service members and their families in creating and refining their individual transition plans (ITPs) and résumés for both federal and private sector opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized career counseling to help soldiers develop transition goals and strategies
- Assist service members and their families in creating and refining ITPs and résumés
- Coordinate and facilitate DOL Employment Workshops, VA Benefits Briefings, and other transition-related sessions
- Deliver comprehensive transition briefings to inform soldiers of available services and eligibility requirements
- Conduct pre-separation counseling sessions to ensure soldiers are aware of all required services and resources
- Lead regional outreach activities to promote available transition services and provide additional support for soldiers in need
- Collect and analyze participant feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A master's degree in Training and Development, HR Management, Counseling, or a related field
- A minimum of two years of career counseling, education, or related experience
- Two years of experience with the Military lifestyle, either through personal or professional experience with Military personnel and their families
- In-depth understanding of Military culture and Command structure
- Demonstrated experience in program evaluations and utilizing customer feedback to improve program effectiveness and impact
