Job Description
Radiologic Technologists play a vital role in the healthcare industry, working with patients of all ages to produce high-quality diagnostic images. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will operate radiographic equipment, develop film, and apply principles of radiation safety to ensure optimal patient care.
You will evaluate radiographs for technical quality, exercise professional judgment in procedure performance, and recognize patient conditions requiring immediate action. Additionally, you will aid in the orientation and education of radiology department staff and participate in performance improvement activities to maintain the highest standards of care.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful as a Radiologic Technologist, you should have a strong foundation in radiologic technology, including knowledge of radiation safety principles, imaging modalities, and patient positioning techniques. You should also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
A graduate degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required, along with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification or eligibility. Previous clinical training experience in radiologic technology is also preferred.
