Job Overview:
This role is responsible for providing health and safety support to meet the business plan goals.
The Basics:
- Bachelor's Degree in occupational health and safety or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of safety experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support in all aspects of Health and Safety including SAP notifications, permitting, compliance documentation/tracking, and Safety communications.
- Lead or assist in completing various internal safety projects.
- Document, analyze, evaluate, and prepare charts for various safety and health measurables such as monthly man hours, incidents, Safety KPIs, OSHA logs, and other safety-related data.
- Promote health and wellness awareness for the entire site through blood drives, health fairs, company safety and health events.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance to safety requirements for the site; work closely with management to develop and implement safety goals for improvement in area of responsibility and track progress of same.
- Participate and/or lead incident investigations to determine root cause and effective corrective actions.
- Provide guidance to management regarding project and equipment design and construction.
- Maintain and/or develop safety programs as needed including implementation and training.
Work Environment:
This role will be based in an office and industrial setting in the Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL.
