About the Job:
We are seeking a Tribal Forestry Consultant to provide expertise in the restoration of whitebark pine stands in high-elevation forests. The successful candidate will have a strong background in forestry and forest management, as well as experience working in high-elevation environments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to tribal forestry staff
- Develop and implement restoration plans
- Work with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
- Conduct field assessments and monitoring
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Forest Management, or related natural resource degree
- Masters degree and/or three years of experience preferred
- Valid Montana driver's license and ability to obtain Bureau of Indian Affairs Motor Vehicle Operator license
- Physical exam and pack test required for fire activities
- Pesticide applicators license required
