Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in Liberty Corner, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role will be hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) and will report to the Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Prepare and distribute financial reports for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain daily cash position and perform cash applications.
- Manage cash balances and process weekly payments for payables, expenses, and payroll.
Accounting & Reconciliation
- Perform bank reconciliations (daily and monthly).
- Process monthly payroll reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Conduct intercompany reconciliations and prepare monthly journal entries.
Tax & Compliance
- Assist in monthly/quarterly tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Additional Duties
- Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience (preferably in a professional services firm).
- Accounting, Business, or Finance Bachelors degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling experience preferred).
- Experience with Deltek VantagePoint (or willingness to learn).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
