Project Overview
Based at Bechtel’s CityWest Houston office and travelling regularly to Project sites, the IR Retention Representative will join to the North America Open Shop Engagement and Retention team. This position may be eligible for part-time telework, with travel to Projects and regions as required.
Job Summary
The Industrial Relations (IR) Retention Representative is responsible for developing, implementing, and driving retention initiatives and strategies for Craft Professionals across all North America Open Shop Projects in partnership with Project IR representatives. These strategies will focus on building project culture and reducing absenteeism and turnover to support successful Project delivery and build a long-term skilled Bechtel workforce.

Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”

Major Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of craft professional engagement and communication programs that contribute to a positive site culture.
- Support development of career roadmaps that set a clear path for career progression for craft professionals.
- Support and promote the implementation/consolidation of reward and recognition programs and incentive programs and ensure proactive engagement strategies are in place.
- Provide support for site Workforce Services/Industrial Relations and Communications representatives as required – including travel to Project sites for varying periods of time.
- Track and support implementation of craft professional engagement/retention actions as identified through various mediums (focus groups, survey, 4 week check in, etc.).
- Identify trends/opportunities through data review and analysis.
- Support and execute other ad hoc tasks as required across the functional scope of work.
- Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
- Construction experience preferred.
- Fluent in English.
- Spanish speaking a plus.
- Must have the right to work in the US.
- Accurate, detail-oriented, quick learner, self-starter.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and ability to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with diverse, global team members.
- Strong writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite of programs / other graphics programs (i.e. Canva)
