Project Overview:
Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States by far - enough to power 1 million electric vehicles per year.
As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team contractors engineering and building the facility. We are also managing procurement of about $1 Billion in goods and services.
Earth work began in 2023 and design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway.
The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
Planned with sustainability and the environment in mind, the facility will use its excess process heat to generate electricity and will recycle process water up to seven times. Once the second phase of the project is complete, Thacker Pass will produce more than 16 times the current U.S. output of lithium.

Job Summary:
The Reports Engineer will be assigned to the project full-time, taking direction from the assigned project supervisor with GBU functional oversight for processes and procedures.
This role will be responsible for development, coordination, updating and preparing the Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reports required on the project. This person will be required to interface with all functions within the project team and, potentially, the contractors/vendors as well.
Our expectation is to also help with maintenance of PowerBI.
This position is required to be a well-organized 'people' person with strong verbal and written communication skills. They will be able to help drive the project team members to provide timely inputs.
This site-based position will be located in Winnemucca, Nevada. Single-status, Workforce Hub (Camp) housing is provided, and bussing to/from the Thacker Pass Site is provided/available. #LI-SM2

Education and Experience Requirements:
- B.S. degree required; preferably in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 1-3 years of EPC/EPCM experience in Project Controls in a home/project office.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Skilled in oral and written communication, including direct interface with Bechtel project team members, owner when needed, and potentially the design contractors/vendors.
- Analytical approach to problem solving.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Proficiency in PowerBI preferred
- Demonstrates a beginning level of understanding of Project Controls general technical skills.
- Demonstrates a beginning level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
- Ability to effectively interface with multiple personnel and produce deliverables on time and with high quality.
- Able to work independently to meet project deadlines.
