Job Description: Project Electrical Engineer
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Summary:
The Project Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical engineering designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes in a particular project. Will create, develop, and implement efficient electrical engineering systems, reducing costs while maintaining standards of operations. Oversees project logistics and resource allocation. Develop, implement, and manage the processes, systems, procedures, and services the company delivers by involving energy distribution, automation and controls design for substations, power centers, switchgear, and MCCs. Will be responsible for the overall project management and electrical design of electrical power distribution and control equipment for the mining and industrial markets. Implement electrical engineering initiatives to support and develop a team of engineers to manage electrical designs, review process and ensure specifications are met in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
- • Review all engineering design plans, performing complex calculations, designing, and constructing electrical systems and their components.
- • Ability to collaborate with various customers and demonstrate a sound understanding of all the project’s electrical requirements.
- • Work to specifications.
- Analyzing technical drawings, interpreting specifications, and determining the electrical requirements of a given project.
- Consulting with other engineers and clients to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
- Managing and monitoring all assigned electrical projects.
- Ensuring health and safety codes are always obeyed.
- Completing quality assurance on all electrical components, projects, and developing associated technical reports.
- Using CAD software to draft designs (AutoCAD Electrical, Mechanical and Inventor).
- Analyzing and approving engineering plans.
- Diagnosing problems and troubleshooting equipment.
- Ensuring all deadlines requirements are met.
- Keeping abreast of the latest developments in electrical engineering.

Required Education and Experience
- Result oriented person with Thee (3) to Five (5) years of verifiable experience in the mining/industrial Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Field.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience with CAD software and MS Office and SAP.
- A sound understanding of health and safety regulations.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent time management and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work in a team and always remain professional.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- EE or Certified Mine Electrician, CAD skills, PLC and programming skills, knowledge of 3-phase power distribution and PLCs.
