Summary: The successful candidate must be detail oriented, an independent thinker and bring innovative ideas to the company. The Director of Accounting & Reporting is an integral partner with managers and other team members at multiple locations.
Essential Functions Manage all aspects of the day-to-day, monthly, quarterly, and yearly finance and reporting functions within the Group including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Administer accounting and reporting planning, policies, and procedures that align with corporate direction. Recommend new approaches and best practices for the improvement of accounting and reporting planning, policies and procedures. Assist senior management in cost analysis, including recommendations. Manage staff of 3-5 employees. Facilitate and prepare all consolidated and individual company budgets and forecasts. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against the budget. Facilitate month-end closing and prepare all consolidated and individual company financial statements. Responsible for all reporting deadlines. Manage cash flow. Manage audit internally and interface with independent auditors. Responsible for compliance with federal and state registrations, income tax, franchise tax, etc. Assist managers in carrying out their responsibilities with regards to accounting and finance. Responsible for accounting records and reports. Follow up is a high priority. Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as required.
Competencies Must possess the following skill sets: Effective analytical and decision making skills; SAP experience preferred; IFRS experience preferred; Very proficient in Microsoft Excel; Ability to lead and mentor staff; Effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal; Effective change management skills;
Required Education and Experience Action oriented person with of verifiable successful experience in Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, MBA and/or CPA preferred; Five (5) to seven (7) years accounting experience in a management and or operational role.
Travel: This position requires minimal travel if any.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
