What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Technician position at Becker Morgan?
Basic Function: This person is part of the field crew that performs field surveys and construction stakeouts. Essential Duties/Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Conduct field surveys
- Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, sketches, and etc.
- Take field measurement with the use of GPS and/or total station, both robotic and manual
- Understanding the project goal, scope of work and expectations of the client
- Keep surveying equipment and survey vehicle maintained and organized
- Overnight stays out of town when the job permits.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to plan, organize, and meet deadlines
- Consistent work effort, dependability, and willing to learn
- Ability to work in a team environment and be cooperative and collaborative
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Know, understand, and demonstrate safe working/operating methods of assigned tools and equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Surveying experience is not necessary but preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
